Christmas installation for The Shinmonzen Hotel, Kyoto
project: art dierction and design for Christmas installation for The Shinmonzen luxury boutique hotel in Kyoto. The concept drew inspiration from Kyoto’s traditional crafts and ikebana, reinterpreted through personal approach to festive decoration. Twelve Christmas trees were adorned with long, thin bamboo strips in natural and matte gold tones, referencing both the elegance of Japanese craftsmanship and the spirit of the season. On the hotel’s terrace, a mobile installation of wooden spheres in natural finishes and matte gold offered a contemporary nod to classic Christmas ornaments.
The project bridged Western holiday traditions with Japanese aesthetics, resulting in a subtle and elegant celebration of place and season.
