Christmas Installation at The Shinmonzen, Kyoto

Last year, Christmas Installation for The Shinmonzen Hotel, Kyoto - with projects like this, it is always a challenge and I always try to bridge Western traditions with Japanese aesthetics.

The design was inspired by Kyoto’s crafts and ikebana, reinterpreted through my own approach to festive decoration.
Twelve Christmas trees were dressed with long, thin bamboo strips in natural and matte gold tones, reflecting both the elegance of Japanese craftsmanship and the spirit of the season. On the hotel’s terrace, I also created a mobile installation of wooden spheres in natural finishes and matte gold — a contemporary nod to classic Christmas ornaments.
The result was a subtle and elegant celebration of place and season.
